Getaways

June 28—"You Deserve a Good Paddling" Canoe the Neuse River, Day-trip: Leaving from Outdoor Rec at 8 a.m. $10 per person, ages 12 and up, includes transportation, equipment and sack lunch. Difficulty level: easy--no experience necessary. Maximum of two people per canoe. Canoe route approx. 6.8 miles from US117 access to NC581--Sign up by June 23.

July 25-27—Whitewater Rafting Trip: Near Fayetteville, West Va. Leaving from Outdoor Rec at noon on July 25 and returning around 4 p.m., July 27. Participants will raft the lower New River. This trip is recommended for all skill levels ages12 and up. Transportation, lodging, meals and rafting are included in trip fees. Prices are $228.55 per person with 4 people per room; $246.72 per person with 3 people sharing a room; $283.05 per person for double occupancy; and $342.05 for a single.
